A concerted effort to preserve our Queenslander/Hamptons style is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational and economic legacies – all of the things that quite literally make us who we are.
SEVEN HILLS, BRISBANE Q
Hampton designs can be difficult to fuse with inner city Queenslander style. This project involved the re-calibration of years of Queenslander dialect and style into a contemporary inner-city home. The form was to renew and extend the existing character in such a way as to reinforce and maintain the original space and form for the home and the area. The new building design is expressed in the facade and flow where seasoned cladding has been chosen to ‘bond’ the home to the site for another 100 years. A testament and nod to previous decades, but an era of absolute approach to specifying material selections that help complete a charming and relevant addition to this inner city lot.
